San Blas Church, Cuzco
San Blas Church is on the little square in the San Blas neighborhood of Cusco.
The pulpit of San Blas, arguably Latin America's most ornate, is an
intricately carved 17th-century cedar pulpit hewn from a single tree trunk
and dominated by the triumphant figure of Christ.
Inside the church is one of the greatest jewels of colonial art in the continent: the Pulpit of Saint Blaise; which is a filigree made in cedar wood by expert hands managing a gouge. The preserved stone walls of Coricancha are among the most impressive examples of the world-famous Inca architecture.
