Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is a old school style shooter, but remixed for the 21st century with next generation graphics and deep, modern gameplay. Playing is simple: you are a geometric "ship" trapped in a grid world, facing off against waves of deadly wanderers, snakes, and repulsars. Your aim is to survive long enough to set a high score!Source:

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved (alternate title: Geometry Wars Evolved) is a multidirectional shooter video game created by Bizarre Creations, released on Xbox Live Arcade on July 30, 2008 as a sequel to Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved combines dual-analog
space-shooting gameplay with futuristic minimalism in a $5 game that's highly
reminiscent of arcade classics like Robotron 2084. The objective is to stay
alive while moving around an enclosed grid that's a little larger than the
size of the screen. As you move and shoot, geometric shapes manifest and
come after you, and you must evade or destroy them without making physical
contact. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved might be one of the most simplistic
games at the launch of the Xbox 360, but in some ways it's also one of the
most thrilling.

GridWars is basically a freeware PC version of
the popular Xbox 360 game, $5 Geometry Wars. Made by Mark
Incitti, this release features less special effects compared to the
original but if you don't have a 360 and want to see what fans are all raving about this is a good chance to do so.
