Chucuito is a picturesque village located in the district of Callao which is the gateway to the district of 'La Punta'. Here were settled a lot of Italian immigrants between the nineteenth and twentieth century, who devoted mainly to fishing. Most of the buildings are houses of the early twentieth century and were made of wood and others made on the basis of thatch and mud.
It was a fishing village from the viceroy to the present century. During the eighteenth century there was a small ranch called Pitipiti, populated by aborigines Collas. This ranch lay outside the walls of Callao towards La Punta. The place was known as 'the town of San Miguel de Mancera', which was destroyed by the earthquake of 1746.
It has countless beaches and piers such as the 'Playa de la Ribera', and the 'Carpallo'.
