Peru Top Mining-Companies Investment 2011
Mining companies invested during 2011 a total of U.S. $ 7 202 million,
representing an increase of 77% over the previous year, according to the
Peru Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM).
Companies that made the largest investments in the progress of their projects,:Minera Yanacocha (U.S. $ 1.148 million) with an increase of 279.8% compared to 2010, Xstrata SA Bambas (U.S. $ 763 million), Minera Chinalco Peru SA ( $ 750 million), Xstrata Tintaya SA (U.S. $ 668 million) and Compania Minera Antamina (U.S. $ 640 million).
