painstaking perspective and geometry to create his art - challenging the
viewer to second guess what is physically possible.

Drawing Hands shows a sheet of paper out of
which rise, from the wrists which remain flat on the page, two hands, facing
opposite and apparently in the act of drawing one another into existence, a
curiously satisfying paradox. The image is a kind of strange loop.
Drawing Hands, is a conflict between the flat
surface and spatial perception. No artist before or after Escher has been
able to turn flat surfaces (drawings) into such spatial perplexities.
